🐘 About Drunk Elephant love…🐘

Skincare

Oh my God this brand is still everywhere! Even if last year there was a lot of commotion in beautyworld because Tiffany Masterson argued on-line with some influencers. Their suspicious 6 didn’t make everybody happy!
.
Their ingrediënt philosophy is to exclude the suspicious 6, which are ingrediënts with a doubtfull reputation. Essential Oils, Silicones, SLS, chemical sunscreens, fragrance, drying alcohols. I can agree on 5 of them, but I do love essential oils added at the end of ingrediënt lists.
.
It’s a great philosophy, weren’t it that a lot of moisturizers contain e.g. dimethicone, a silicone. If you want to live without silicones on your skin, you should abandon a real big part of your stash! Think of Tatcha, Paula’s Choice, Vichy, Kiehl, La Roche Posay, Pixi and so on!
.
A lot of skincare influencers were raving about Drunk Elephant and meanwhile rave about products with ingrediënts part of suspicious 6! But hey, doing otherwise would make them broke and I understand this completely!
.
Suppose you love skincare with only natural ingrediënts, than most of the time you’ll encounter essential oils. So either way you are going, you will always encounter suspicious 6 except in Drunk Elephant.
.
Without blaming anyone, last year I decided to try some DE products, low profile, without knowing about how I wanted to position me in this discussion.
.
Lately, I was having some skinsensitivity. You know I had diminuished on chemical exfoliation, see my previous posts. But that alone wasn’t enough to restore my skin barrier. So I started my routines with natural soothing face oils and finish it with a moisturizer.
.
Remembering these suspicious 6, I had the idea that I could try to exclude dimethicone for a while. So I use LK skincare day cream and Lala Retro.
.
And guess what! My skincondition is improving drastically! Therefor I thought about giving Drunk Elephant a go again and I bought myself this lovely The Midi Committee™ Drunk Drawer
.
Anyway I love their packaging, their stubborness, their perseverance. I whish I had everything sorted out like that!
.
Do you try to follow a philosophy in your skincare: veganism, organical beauty, clean beauty, cruelty free beauty, …. I really would love to hear 😘
