Empties November 2020

Apparently a whole lot of products finished in November! Empties are the best evidence from me to you about how they perform because you know I used them, and I used them till they were emptie! This means I have a very good impression on how they perform for my skin!

I have combination skin, with an oily T-zone and normal to dry cheeks. I struggle with enlarged pores since a few years now. Actually it goes along with getting older. And of course at 50, I have some fine lines, but I really embrace them! They are signs of me laughing a lot, meaning that beside a lot of struggles I am and was also a happy person. So no botox for me! But I can understand people who do decide to use botox! We are all free to decide whatever we want about how we look like, as long as one does not hurt another, everything is ok for me!

Let’s talk about our empties:

Paula’s Choice

2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant 34€ 100ml 5/5!

A few months ago I started using the liquid for my enlarged pores until I switched to the Niacinamide 20%, which functions better for me! But if you are a teenager or in your 20-ties even 30-ties, this lotion or even liquid is perfect for you! My daughter of 13 and my daughter of 23 are addicted to this stuff!
My oldest tried to stop using the liquid, because it is more expensive than drugstore skincare, but she now reordered! And the youngest doesn’t want to change the lotion, because she really reduced her acne with the BHA 2% Lotion Exfoliant!

Clinical Ceramide Enriched firming Eye Cream 47€ 15ml 5/5

This is my emptie! I never use any other eyecream anymore! It’s a heavy creamy texture, but sinks in completely and doesn’t leave any greasyness behind! But it does hydrate my fine lines, and even though I embrace them I will hydrate them and try to reduce the loss of firmness which comes with aging! This is the only cream of which I really do notice a difference in using or not! It really brightens your look, I think if you suffer from dark undereyes this is excellent for you! To do so it is packed with ceramides, retinol A and vitamin C!

10% Niacinamide Booster 47€ 20ml 5/5

Actually when I first used it, being a regular user of The Ordinary Niacinamide, my thoughts weren’t positive! I was disappointed in the liquid texture! I couldn’t think this expensive water would do the job! It costed four times as much and there was 10 ml less in the bottle!
But I bought it so I had to use it! And it actually worked really well! It kept my skin hydrated, it is responsible for my youthfull look, soft pink instead of purple cheeks, less pigmentation and in general much less irritated skin! What I love most, is that where TO in combination with other products sometimes pilled, this one never, I mean never, does! The actives responsible for this goodness are Niacinamide (B3), Panthenol (B5) and acetylglucosamine which is responsible for fading out redness and pigmentation spots!
I always have 2 back-ups! But from the moment the 20% was available in Europe, I also started using that! That has an oilier texture. So now I use this baby in the morning, and the 20% in the evening! I just started so, too early for already having a deep thought! I’ll keep you posted!

Ultra Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum 39€ 30ml 4/5

This serum has a lovely light gel texture! A little to the orange side! I apply it after toner. It sinks in really good! It doesn’t leave you with any tackiness or oiliness. I was never sure about what this serum did for me, allthough the actives which are in it, are really lovely: Niacinamide, Quercitine, Hyaluronic acid. It was actually when I stopped using that I noticed it worked for me! I notice when I don’t use it I get red working behind my screens, if I use it I don’t! So I can say for sure it has a strong antioxidant function! I think it’s the Quercitine which is a plant derived flavanoid. Flavanoids are found in green tea and honey, and gives them the strong antioxidant quality! Because I found some intresting facts on this ingrediënt, Quercitine on http://www.theskincarechemist.com I really want to share this with you!

Quercetin is a commonly occurring natural ingredient in the human body and skin. It has proven antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties! It sooths and protects skin. However, it is not a very common ingredient.  Studies show increased microcirculation, improved skin structure (as roughness, scaling, volume, and wrinkles), and reduced water loss of the skin layer. It also combats DNA damage!

Some skincare oils contain high concentrations of Quercetin. For example, Shea butter has been shown to contain high concentrations on Quercetin.  It is found in many plants and foods, such as red wine, onions, green tea, apples, berries, Ginkgo biloba, St. John’s wort, American elder, and others. Buckwheat tea has a large amount of quercetin.

I rebought it but not in the light version and will keep using it!

Elanskincare London Dream Hyaluronic Acid Booster 36€ 20ml 5/5

This is seriously the best Hyaluronic Acid I know! I find it really hydrating, I love the texture and you really notice a difference with other Hyaluronic Acid serums. You just need very little. It’s a thick clear gel texture, you can apply it on its own or mix it with a face oil. In both cases it absorbs very well. Once applied it’s a little tacky, but it disappears within some minutes. Switching to other serums for me immediately results in a less hydrated skin! What I read about the formula is that it contains 3 molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid, with the ultra-low and low molecular weights penetrating deeper into the skin’s layers, boosting moisture in the skin. It’s very potent and contains 3% professional strength active and eco-certified hyaluronic acid.
You can probably guess it, I already have a refill ready!

Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser , mini 4/5

I received this mini in a discovery box from Naturissimo! I had a real good experience with this cleanser. It’s a gel like texture, with water it gives a light lather. I didn’t use it to remove make-up, because I always use an oily texture, balm or oilcleanser. But as a second or morning cleanser I really loved it! It’s gentle and leaves my skin hydrated. I would rebuy if I didn’t have 20 cleansers waiting to be used!

Pixi Rose Glow Mist 100ml 16£ 5/5

I recieved this Glow Mist in Pr from Pixi Beauty. I used it in between my skincare layers and also as a finishing spray! It worked very well for both purposes! I extremely like it as a finishing spray as it gives your skin a lovely slightly glowing complexing! It’s a dual-phase elixir containing essential Fatty Acids and Antioxidants. It helps to moisturise skin, improve elasticity and provide free radical protection. I’m going to rebuy this, but I first want to finish some other mists I have in my stash!

The Ordinary, Deciem Niacinamide 60ml 10,6€ 4,5/5

The texture of this Niacinamide is totally different from the PC’s one! This one is more gellike. This was my favourite niacinamide! It helps with blemishes and congestion! I would advise this to everybody, because this is really decent quality and absolutely payable! At this moment they have a reduction of 23% in november! If you want to support me you can use the link on Niacinamide! It’s formula is a little bit different than the PC’s! This one contains zink and is therefor better with infections and reducing sebum. It can be combined together with an acne treatment, but it isn’t one on itself! My youngest daughter uses this in combination with other actives to keep her skin clear.

Amika Bust your Bras conditioner 1/5

I bought this together with the same shampoo to cooltone my grey hair. It works well on that, but I didn’t like it because I always ended up with blue skin on my head! My children finished it on their blond haires. I was so exited to try Amika, but this didn’t please me! No rebuy for me! Much better is Daddy’O from Lush!

Moroccanoil Protect and Prevent, mini 2/5

This is the only thing I tried from this brand. Maybe they have gorgeous products, but this mist didn’t work out for me. I used it to protect my hair against heat from blowdrying, but I found it very watery and not doing anything. There was no difference in result wether I used it or not! I also like a nice scent in my haircare, and it was odorless. Sorry to the brand, but I didn’t like it!

Hope you liked these short reviews! Leave a comment if you liked it!
Thanks for reading!
